The prayer "Ana BeKoach" was composed with the initials of the holy name of the Creator, a name with 42 (Mem Bet) letters.
This is one of the most important combinations of Hashem’s name, appearing in the Book of Creation attributed to our father, Abraham.
In the first century AD, there lived a a Kabbalist and Tana named Rabbi Nachonia ben HaKana.
He knew a time would come when people would descend in spirituality and not know how to meditate and delve into the name of God, a pillar of Jewish spirituality.
For this reason, he wrote a prayer whose initials are made up of those very same letters.
According to the order of the 42 initials, this is a supplication to Hashem’s power, named for the first two words of the prayer.
